Millie Case is a multimedia artist and recent graduate from Sculpture and Expanded Practice, NCAD, Dublin. Drawing inspiration from the rich material and cultural histories of the places she inhabits, Millie focuses on themes of public space, community, and the commons. Through the transmutation of natural and repurposed materials, she seeks to forge connections with the land and people, exploring materials and their life cycles as she strives to honour their cultural impact and inherent qualities.
Her work reflects on the past, interrogates the present, and aims to encourage dialogue about our collective future. She expresses these ideas through ephemeral yet enduring mediums such as sculpture, performance, video, sound and socially engaged works.
Millie's work invites curiosity towards new possibilities for a more ecological, holistic reality. By exploring social issues embedded in our surroundings, especially regarding space, she seeks to inspire contemplation towards the possibilities of a more sustainable,
interconnected, non-hierarchical and rhizomatic world
